Reg is an unnamed gelding rising 6 by Swiss Ace out of an Al Vialla mare. Bay gelding of approximately 16.1hh (home measured).
He is currently unshod, probably could do with front shoes as he is a bit "ouchy" on gravel roads. Reg was trained but never made it to trials or raced as it has taken him a long time to mature. He
has a swelling on his right front fetlock - possibly suspensory ligament injury which also held him back from coming into full training.
I got Reg in December 2018 from the trainer who said he was a darling, very sweet horse to work with & have around. Ridden only a handful of times by me & my "green" boyfriend, he is safe & rather lazy. He is a bit herd-bound so would need some work on that & is ok being paddocked alone but needs to be next to a mate. Reg, unfortunately, remains lame. I strap his legs up and he recovers but then ends up "hooning" off with my other two and this sets him back. He needs a smaller paddock & some rest for
some months to allow him to heal up without the stimulation of my paranoid & neurotic older gelding.
No promises, he may come right but for now just looking for someone who wants a paddock mate & after a few months off, a horse for pleasure riding, like trekking and one that you can do fun events with like western horsemanship (stand on a tyre, walk over a bridge).
Reg is a huge character!!!!
Reg is adorable & like a pet dog!!! He follows you around the paddock, nibbles on your jacket. He nibbles on the farriers equipment when she is trimming his hooves. He licks you and hangs around you when you are chilling in the paddock with him.
He is located in Westgate, West Auckland.
I will be going to check out the new home. Reg is for free and I have a Autumn cover to go with for $75 (few months old & bought for $100). Also have a Winter cover for sale.
Good with farrier.
Good to float & truck. Loads relatively easy.
Good to rug & tack up.
No vices, does not kick, bite, buck, rear.
Safe around children & ok with dogs from what I can see.
Ok with "scary" things such as plastic bags etc.
